I love the idea of
making frozen yogurt at home. Its delicious, fresh, fruity and simple to make, You can exchange the
strawberry for any fruit you like, anyone interested
in giving it a try follow the recipe….
Ingredients:
2-3 cups sliced strawberries
1/3-1/2 cup of sugar
1-1/2 cup plain full-fat greek yogurt
1 tsp lemon juice
Greek yogurt:
To make 1 and 1/2 cups
of Greek yogurt (use this as a basic formula, you can double it, triple it or
make 10x the given recipe depending on how much yogurt you need) you will need
4-5 cups of yogurt, that’s around a liter (home made or store bought, I make
mine at home). You will need to put the yogurt in fridge for 4 hours. Next what
you will do is Place a colander or strainer in a large bowl and line with cheese
cloth. Pour in desired amount of plain yogurt (homemade or store-bought). Keep
in mind that the yogurt will diminish by about half. Tie it and hang it some
where high put a bowl underneath it. Let it hang there for 4-5 hours. The whey
will drip into the bottom of the bowl. Once done carefully scoop the thickened
yogurt into storage containers. Store in the refrigerator.
For the Fro-Yo
Mix sliced strawberries with sugar and allow to sit at least two hours. Blend strawberries, lemon juice and yoghurt together and pour into ice cream maker and prepare following the manufacturer's directions, Serve at once or cover and freeze for a firmer product. Remove from freezer about 10 minutes before serving.

If you don't have an ice-cream maker then once your mixture is ready, first pour the liquid you intend to freeze into a large yogurt container. Put this container into Freezer. Every 20 minutes take the container out of the freezer, and mix it really well with a fork, hand blender or whisk. Make sure to break up any ice pieces into small bits and incorporate air into the mix for a creamier yogurt. After 2 - 3 hours you should have a frozen dessertJ.
